Davidson describes the book (and really the entire series) PERFECTLY: "...... watching overpowered children sneer at one another....." Because all anyone did is the book is make snide remarks and then have another meeting.... even te "war" scenes were boring, absolutely so. So, war politics can be terribly boring and there are was to push through them because they are necessary and actually make them entertaining and worth the read. Sadly, Aveyard did not do this. The war politics were awful, absolutely horrendous to get through. It could have been written so much better. "Your death will be quick Maven." Really. As a reader, and lover of Maven, he deserved a death so much more than the quick dismissal than what she gave him. She set up so much and is starting to let it crumble with weak words. FINALLY we get a male perspective. though I think she could have dove us deeper into the chaos that is Maven's mind. The girls continue to be insufferable, specifically Evangelene and honestly she is unnecessary. All she ever does is recap, bore! There is SO much filler in this book, If she would have just got to the point it would have made it a more thrilling read and less boring... not as hard to get through. Evangelenes POV is absolutely insufferable. Iris isn't much better. If I thought Mare or Evangelene were cry babies she takes the cake! Just shut up and make a decision! Mares constant back and forth in her head is useless to the story and only confuses me more. The book is honestly nothing but a lot of filler... I'm holding out for Maven! My sweet chaotic Maven, the only part of the book that Im looking for" All I have to say is... so. much. filler. If Aveyard would just get to the point the book would be much more entertaining. I want so see how the story ends, I want to have Maven back in our lives. But honestly I'm getting really tired so sick, whiney little girls who don't do anything for themselves but then say that they're awesome strong women not one of the women, except for Farley are strong independent women. So in conclusion I read almost 700 pages of words that didn't matter. honestly nothing happens in the book,. And we'll just talk about Mare for one second. She FINALLY gets what she wants, Cal agrees... it may be because of his mother who cares, shes getting what she wants and the choice still isn't good enough for her immature self. Youre 18, not 12... please act like it. Reading the series was king of a waste. and honestly I would have gotten more out of reading the summary instead of wasting my time on actually reading her pointless words, you screwed up Aveyard.... you had a great story but you botched it in the end. ITS OKAY TO GIVE THE READERS WHAT THEY WANT SOMETIMES..... something that Aveyard needs to learn. again, I completely agree with Davidson just a bunch of overpowered children sneering at one another.
