In this novel, you are following Annabelle as she decides to run from Seattle to Washington DC, crazy, I know! As you read, you are trying to figure out what has pushed Annabelle complete this cross-country run. Many times, she eludes to “the taker,” and recounts her past experiences with them, which leads you to believe this run is her way of moving past recent trauma she has experienced. With her Grandpa Ed following behind her in his RV, Annabelle works through this trauma that she refuses to let defeat her. This was a very inspiring and captivating story that kept me rooting for Annabelle the entire time.
