Directed, produced and co-written by Lee Chang-dong in 2018 based on the short story "Barn Burning" from "The Elephant Vanishes" by author Haruki Murakami (村上春樹), this South Korean mystery depicts the relations of an aspiring young novelist and a girl as well as her boyfriend. The treatment of a main female character seems shallow since she serves as the worst kind of male-driven sexual fantasy. I viewed this film because the film was made based on Murakami's short story, which is supposedly a fine work. However, I find the script badly written. Even a good director makes a good movie out of a bad script.
