Great book. Easy-to-understand and well laid out. Especially like her summary charts. The last 2/3rds of the book is recipes--and they all look excellent. Once she introduces Hashimoto's Thyroidosis and relates her personal struggles with it, she relates the food-as-medicine and lifestyle modifications as ways to heal. The symptoms, tests and other issues are discussed and laid out--again in clear language and often with a summarizing table. Then you get into how you can heal yourself: You start with the Intro protocol, which eliminates gluten, soy, dairy, sugar, alcohol and caffeine and recommends foods, recipes and supplements to successfully minimize or eliminate the condition. If results are not evident or not enough, then you move on to her version of Paleo protocol. The Auto-Immune protocol is also available for short-term use if you are not responding to the Paleo or have food sensitivities that are blocking your recovery. Then the recipes! Yum. Beautifully laid out, fully illustrated. There is mild brand referrals here and there, but it does not distract. Recommend.
