This book had potential, and I can honestly say I enjoyed the first half. The author did an effective job of creating his trapped rest stop atmosphere, the development was initially quick, and I was surprised by a twist. BUT then a racist joke happened (that could have instead just been insinuated, for horrible-character development sake) and I mentally checked out. From around that point, the plotline dragged on too long and that twisted feeling was lost, instead replaced with gore and attempted shock value. I think this one would make a decent movie, but it fizzled out for me as a read. And that's the tea.
