How Google, Bono, and the Gates Foundation Rock the World With OKRs
May 23, 2019
The former CEO of the Gates Foundation, Jeff Raikes, recently had an op-ed in the Seattle Times, written by a rich dude spouting monolithic assumptions and such, and some rather questionable narratives. He titled it: Listen Up, White People, yet it was nebulous in nature, Raikes never mentioned support for reparations [which I do], and mentions the lack of diversity in the IT industry - - where this dude was at in management positions, so he did have some culpability and responsibility: In 1990, in Silicon Valley, American females made up 30% of programmers. Today, American females make up less than 5% of programmers. In 2002, in a USA Today article on a Silicon Valley company, American female programmers had filed an EOE lawsuit with the gov't as after replacing all the American male programmers with foreign visa people, they had begun replacing all the American female programmers. Now, wonder where that downsizing of diversity came from? ? ? ? [In Seattle, one can best judge the corruption levels for former city council members by the high paying positions they receive with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.]
