I thought this documentary was a bit thin. Using Elvis as an allegory for the U.S. (the DVD suggests that American democracy has turned into military, economic, and cultural imperialism—young, talented, sexy Elvis turning into the fat, bloated, drug addicted Elvis.) They travel around the U.S. in a Rolls Royce that Elvis once owned and talk to colleagues, historians, neighbors, musicians and actors (Ethan Hawke, Alec Baldwin, Mike Meyers, Ashton Kutcher???) a rather oddball assortment of opinions. Some of the Elvis footage is great but the overall concept of the DVD wears a bit thin.
