This book was one of the best that I've ever read. I bought it on a whim that the art style was appealing, and I was not let down. I'm not usually one for graphic novels, but I loved his one! It has a great story and incredible character development. All of the characters had defined personalities, with I’ve read countless stories with a lawful good character as the protagonist. Now, finally, I read one with a chaotic evil character. It's refreshing to see a book that focuses on the villain in the story rather than the hero. This book has very few characters, which I find handy since I usually get confused with books that have too many characters. It’s a beautiful mashup of science fiction and medieval fantasy. The only things I dislike are the size of the text and the inconsistency in the drawing style. Without my reading glasses, I could barely see some of the words. At the beginning of the story, the artwork was simply coloured in, with no real shading. Through the course of the story, the author shades the pictures more and more, until the colouring style is almost unrecognizable. Nimona's hair also changes colours slightly through the story. @designercoffee of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library The cover and art style of this book is what originally caught my eye. It was a very quick read, only took around two hours. Not only is the art style beautifully simple and unique, but the characters are complex and loveable, and the story is interesting. The symbolism and darkness behind the story are not something to be expected from a seemingly adorable graphic novel, and they connect deeply with the reader. Since I finished reading Nimona, I've bought it for two close friends who I knew would enjoy it. This is a good book for anyone looking for a quick and interesting summer read.
