Fascinating read by the former FBI director who got fired by Trump even though the former's disclosure late in the 2016 Presidential campaign about newly discovered Hillary Clinton e-mails may have led to her defeat. I found the author's perceptions of George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump particularly interesting and most likely accurate. It was also gratifying to read that Comey and others in the Justice Department (when he was there) found John Yoo's torture memo was totally wrong, which was my impression when I read it. Unfortunately, the Bush Administration refused to accept a revised torture memo that would have been legally correct. I was also glad to read Comey's account of the infamous incident when AG John Ashcroft was hospitalized with a severe case of pancreatitis yet White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card and General Counsel Alberto Gonzales tried to get him to sign on to a surveillance program that the Justice Department had determined to be illegal. Worth reading for one participant's account of recent history.
