I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary on the life of the amazing Australian costume-designer Orry-Kelly. As much as anything, it was a wonderful potted history of the halcyon days of American cinema in the first half of the 20th century. The parade of iconic actors and films featured in the documentary has made me want to watch more from this period. I agree that the device of using an actor to play Orry Kelly in slightly surreal, direct-to-camera monologues was disconcerting but it didn't detract too much from the overall film.
