LOVED this book...certainly one of my top 5 favs of this year! The last 3rd gave me that wonderful adrenaline high...no wonder I'm addicted to reading. This book was great from about 70 pages in right to the very end! Not just great action but interesting plot developments that left me wanting more after all was said and done! This felt like a pivotal book to me...many things in previous books all leading up to this point in the series. I loved each and every Trent & Al scene (and there were lots)! FINALLY, we`re getting to know Trent...after how many books leaving him mostly a mystery! One of the things I do enjoy about this series is the lack of stereotyped characters. Everybody is flawed or has messed up big-time at some point in their life and we learn to love and accept them despite it all. Almost every character in the book evolves in some small or major way in this book. Rachel, essentially, is all grown up now. She's awesome and all-powerful in this book just like the AWESOME book cover! She still has all her flaws and gets nervous but she's making smarter choices and learns to accept and own who she is. That makes her more confident facing demons. PHENOMENAL scene at Dali's restaurant with the new Juke Box choice. So original! Was Newt and Rachel bonding?!? The ever-after is turning out to be a neat place to visit (but still not live) after all! My one complaint about the book is that the "elven quest" required more explanation...unless I just missed them. Al turns out to be pretty cool, for a demon, and the potential for a new direction in future books is exciting. What about Pierce? Nobody cares about him...yet he sacrificed himself over and over for her. We know he`s not "the one" for Rachel...but I feel sorry for him. Why Rachel should fall for the dumba$$ Nick yet not Pierce is beyond me. Falling for Trent wouldn`t be smart either but I hope she eventually does! The last two books have turned me into a Hollows fan for sure. We`ve come a LONG, way from Book #1!
