'To Let'-the Forsyte age and way of life, when a man owned his soul, his investments, and his woman, without check or question. Made up of three novels, "The Man of Property," "In Chancery," and "To Let," this is Galsworthy's most significant work and has been filmed multiple times. Before there were boring, rich Brits doing nothing (but with such style!), there were boring, rich Brits doing nothing in "The Forsyte Saga." Yet one can find a kind of comfort in their idleness and aristocratic ways, esp. in these trying times. Also, "Parade's End," "Brideshead Revisited," and "A Dance to the Music of Time."
