Interesting, fresh take on a familiar story, seen through the eyes of a nonbeliever. The acting is good, and less overly “dramatic” than in the more familiar 50’s cinematic Biblical epics. The sets and costumes seem authentic enough – the bonus material explains how large sets were built in Spain and Malta in order to recreate first-century Jerusalem. The story probes psychological effects as the protagonist comes to question everything he has known. Recommended; believers will find their faith reaffirmed, and nonbelievers (and believers too!) will be drawn into the story as the protagonist tries to solve a mystery.
