A 2018-2019 Missouri Mark Twain Readers Award preliminary nominee (grades 4-6). Eleven-year-old Thyme and her family move from California to New York so that her little brother Val can participate in a cancer drug trial. The move is just supposed to be for a few months. Lovely book about family and growing up and what it's like when one child is so sick that the other kids don't get all the attention they need and being strong and brave until you can't. I don't know that it had anything new to say, but I liked it.
