the Gates Foundation and the Price of Philanthropy

[Update: First time I've heard the author on air - - on The Real Story from BBC on philanthropy - - she was really brilliant in her remarks and commentary, whereas the lady made me gag every time she spoke: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/w3csydf4 ] [Philanthropist: one who hires assassins to murder protesting workers and union organizers!] A 30-starred book, really incredible achievement by Ms. McGoey! The author researched her subjects thoroughly, and has a captivating writing style where she quotes an assertion - - seemingly not disagreeing with it, then pages later will completely refute and destroy it! Bill Clinton, in one of his bankster speeches, falsely claims that 100 million people have been lifted out of poverty by microcredit loans! NEGATIVE - - perhaps 100 million have received those microcredit loans, but nobody has risen above the poverty level for it - - although the investors in those banks make a nice ROI! The old employer of our UN ambassador, Samantha Power, the ECONOMIST magazine, was strident in promoting no caps on the interest rate charged by those microcredit lenders - - which can exceed OVER ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!!!!! Ever hear Ambassador Power mention this????? Please pay close attention to Ms. McGoey's point on double exemption, and the Gates Foundation non-repayble grant to Vodafone - - damning as it was, she stops there - - for who the major investors in Vodafone were tells the entire story! [An excellent point made by Jane Mayer, in her incredible book - - Dark Money - - was the tax law allowing the transfer of family fortunes to avoid any inheritance taxes: the recipient must donate the accrued interest on the principal to a // charity \\ for 10 to 20 years - - said charities being those shill tanks and foundations which lobby on behalf of the super-rich and spread their diabolical messages and agenda, and work for and support specific extreme rightwing political candidates!] Gates Foundation is a donor to A.L.E.C. [American Legislature Exchange Council, a Koch enterprise] and Jeb Bush's Foundation for Excellence in Education. Synergistic books to read along with this: Dark Money, by Jane Mayer, and The New Prophets of Capital, by Nicole Aschoff
