Very interesting and unexpected ending to the book. The book really brought out the importance of seeking help after a traumatic event such as shooting someone. In the book, Randy Spelling, a new female police officer with dreams of becoming a chief one day, has triggered a series of events after a shooting of a African American pregnant teenager as result of the teenager's refusal to comply to Officer Randy's instructions. Though not her fault, her guilt brought her to try to apologize to the victim's family. The PD and her psychiatrist advised her not to as investigations are ongoing and her doing so may implicate things.
