THIS. BOOK. As soon as I finished it yesterday I couldn’t even form words. I was overwhelmed with emotions and feels and all of the things. Every October, Cara and her family become unavoidably accident-prone. Some years it’s not so bad, just bumps and bruises, but others it’s worse, like when her dad died. Ever since she could remember, October has always been ‘The Accident Season‘. This year, she’s 17 years old, and it’s going to bad, the worse one yet, maybe, and it all starts with the disappearance of one of Cara’s friends. What follows is a beautiful narration of the adventure that Cara and her family embark on as they uncover long-hidden family truths and the dark origins of the accident season. Written in the form of Magical Realism, it wasn’t until I was nearing the end that I started to understand the real story hidden beneath. And I loved it. If you’ve ever read We Were Liars, then you’ll enjoy this book as well!
