I was reminded of Shipwrecked in the 80's by Kris Kristofferson while I was reading this one. Specifically the lyric, "When they prove something wrong you believed in so long you go crazy. And you're so close to folding the cards that you hold in your hand." It's like reading Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky and realizing everything you've ever been told from Manifest Destiny to Joseph Smith was a big fat lie. Every so often a book or series will strike me as so unbelievable that I just cannot press on. Or like when the septopus started driving the van in Finding Dori. I left and came back for the credits so I could watch something worthwhile which was my daughter flying up and down the stairs in her after movie dance of bliss.
