A disappointing book, overall, as the premise could have produced more interesting characters and situations, and fewer well-worn stereotypes and expletives. Birmingham is clearly aiming to have this turned into a screenplay for a summer blockbuster movie, as the gratuitous violence and car chases of the portions of the book set in Paris would translate well to the big screen - unfortunately, those parts are full of factual errors about the French and do nothing to advance the plot. Read this book only if you need your "pro-America" biases re-inforced. Birmingham spends a lot of time in the book 'proving' how the world can't go on without the USA.
