Add a CommentThe ultimately the reason behind being haunted is elusive other than being at the wrong place and time, which happens to be entering a... house? This is essentially how regular old death works, right? Is this a metaphor for asbestos exposure, but catching like a flu, ugh idk, I digress. Ghosts are not like the flu though or covid-19 for that matter. Some of the acting is pretty good as we can expect from actors of experience, but well, it's not scary and only mildly entertaining as a person watches the dominos of misfortune fall in the vignettes of successive curse hauntings. No good deed goes unpunished in this movie; that's kind of depressing. Meh
If you die violently you become one pissed off ghost. And there are many of them who aren't just stuck in the ghost house. The ghosts attach themselves to any human who enters the haunted house. The ghosts then can travel freely and wreck havoc on those cursed. The whole movie is backstories of those who had the bad fortune of just stepping into the house. Ghosts were violent and scary but the ending was the best in my opinion.
A confusing film...I prefer the Sarah Michelle Gellar original.
IMDB rated 4.2/10
Detective Muldoon is handed a murder investigation and realises that the murder site is a cursed house. As a result, she decides to break the curse, fearing for her and her son's safety.
Nuggets... KERNELS of really interesting ideas are scattered all over the movie, and you'll wish that any one of those had been fleshed out and explored more thoroughly. They're not, and the movie proceeds to do nothing for it's entire runtime. The most infuriating kind of bad movie.
