A slice of humanity on the trials and tribulations of a lonely young Korean American in providing the home care of her invalid and terminally ill father while making a living as a karaoke club hostess in LA. A moving story but melancholy from beginning to end.

This was a beautiful movie....beautifully made, beautiful music. The relationship between brother and sister was very moving and brought tears to my eyes. The sister who lives a lonely and hard life finds comfort when her simple and kind brother comes to help care for their father. He cares very much for his sister. They provide solace for each other and it is shown in a wonderful way. I really loved the brother's character....such a good down-to-earth person. Great director. I turned around and watched it again.

You look so pretty. Wow! It matches you so well. Your boyfriend must be rich, who buys their girlfriends expensive gifts like this? PURPLE LOOKS SO GOOD ON YOU. NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE LOOK GOOD IN PURPLE...
I live with my dad, and then my brother, for now. My dad was like a dick to my brother, so he left when I was 15.
-What about your mom?
Um, she left when we were kids.
I'm not gonna leave him like you did!
Kasie, whatever you had to do to keep Dad alive, I don't judge you for it, okay? I don't. I just think that you should... You should think about after, you know?
