Ex-Boston homicide detective Billy Robinson has retreated to a quiet life on the New England coast. Struggling to cope following the death of his beloved wife, he must now run the inn that Siobhan took care of so well. The inn's quirky residents help keep Billy on solid ground as he grieves, and the group soon become an unconventional family. But this small town is in the grips of a growing opioid epidemic, and when a young resident gets hooked into the crisis, Billy knows he must act to save the people in the inn that he has grown to care so much about. With his secretive past in Boston catching up to him, can Billy survive long enough to save the town - and its beloved inn - from ruin?

Boston police decetive Bill Robinson is the owner and inndeeper in Gloucester. A dozen residents pay their rent along with the sheriff Clayton Spears. Then Mitchell Cline arrives with a crew of local killers that break laws, deal drugs, and deliver violence to the doors of the inn. Teaming up with the sheriff and two fearless residents-army veteran Nick Jones and groundkeeper Effie Johnson-Robinson begins a risky defense. Great book

It started off slow, but once I got into it I enjoyed the book in its entirety

I tried but couldn't get through it. Too many characters, slow plot. It is time for Patterson to go back to his beginnings and write his own works.

They story line was way too scattered for me. And with weird characters all over the place, I gave up after 80 pages or so.

Not really the best

Definitively geared to the YA set. Started out good with first chapter then went stupid. Could not make it even half way.

I note that Pattersonis again is co-writing with another author. ( You have to look carefully to see her name on the cover!) I find the practice deceitful and the quality of writing inferior. Seems greedy as well.
