"Most know Androma Racella as the Bloody Baroness, a powerful mercenary whose reign of terror stretches across the Mirabel Galaxy. To those aboard her glass starship, Marauder, however, she's just Andi, their friend and fearless leader. But when a routine mission goes awry, the Marauder's all-girl crew is tested as they find themselves in a treacherous situation-and at the mercy of a sadistic bounty hunter from Andi's past. Meanwhile, across the galaxy, a ruthless ruler waits in the shadows of the planet Xen Ptera, biding her time to exact revenge for the destruction of her people. The pieces of her deadly plan are about to fall into place, unleashing a plot that will tear Mirabel in two. Andi and her crew embark on a dangerous, soul-testing journey that could restore order to their ship-or just as easily start a war that will devour worlds. As the Marauder hurtles toward the unknown, and Mirabel hangs in the balance, the only certainty is that in a galaxy run on lies and illusion, no one can be trusted."--Jacket flap.

The book was okay... mediocre... "eh"

PLOT: too much rushed action with predictable plot lines. Could have been far better.

CHARACTER: I had issues with Androma-- sorry, "ANDI"-- for most of the novel. She has this cool name (Androma) yet is referred to, throughout the novel, as "Andi" for 80% of the time. She is also called "the Bloody Baroness," ret the authors continued to write her fight scenes as "Andi," which, with "Andi" being the compassionate, guilt-ridden killer of many, could have been an interesting tool as Andi turns into Androma (kick-butt, killing machine, with white and purple hair.)

ACCURACY: The authors tried to world build TOO MUCH. Is that a thing? Yeah, to me it is. Over-world-building is doing stuff like, "Androma, leaning back in the seat of her varilium ship, ate some Moon Chew, glancing at her Arcadian holo-clock and cursing the AC because it was as cold as a Soleran day, and bemoaned her ex-boyfriend Dex, damning him by the Godstars." Yes, his name is Dex. (I don't really like this name) The problem was that there was no way I could know what any of that was! Don't try and mush every random aspect of your world to your audience! We are smart! Give us the basics, we'll figure it out! Trying to do everything confuses us!

RECOMMENDATION: Definitely what I call a "library book:" not worth the time or money to invest in the series. I will not be continuing the Androma Saga. There are better books to read. :( 2.5 out of 5. 50%. One thumb slightly tilted.
