Almost 30-year-old Anna lives secluded in her mum's shed making videos using her thumbs as actors. A week before her birthday her mom tells her that she has to cut her hair, stop dressing like a homeless person, and move out of the shed. At first, Anna is upset, but after a friend from school visits, her isolation can't be continued. Quickly she gets entangled with the local real estate agent and an eight-year-old boy who is obsessed with Westerns.

I watched this and then watched it again the next night. Funny, sweet, and heartbreaking. It's so hard grieving the loss of someone you're close to, and it's hard watching someone you love go through that grief and not know how to help them. This movie nails all of that. (It doesn't hurt that I adore Jodie Whittaker and I love Yorkshire accents.)

It was maddening that there were no subtitles....The English accents were thick as a brick, but despite that, even a hearing impaired person (me) found this to be quirky but clever enough to enjoy it. I certainly can not deride any young adult for living at home for as long as possible due to a world wide epidemic of landlord greed---but I can understand the parent's dismay as well.

Wonderful quirky movie about a woman that's dealing with her own attachments to her past. It's set in quiet English country side. There's lots of moments that might make one ponder what life is about. It's a slow movie that best watched, not in a hurry.

This promised to be interesting, but shoddy production values made it unwatchable and impossible to comprehend, much less enjoy.

Unbelievably, the producers did not include closed captioning. As a result, those who rely in that everyday feature of any video are quite simply out of luck. And, when combined with its dialog of British or Irish (who can tell?) mumblecore, this movie might just as well have been a silent film.

Other production elements were wanting, too. For example, lighting went from ok to barely visible (and back) for no apparent reason.

Consequently, someone else will have to enlighten you about the quality of this film.
