He knows that everyone thinks they want to live forever, until they hit middle age and witness the suffering of their parents and even their peers. So how do we solve the paradox of wanting to live to a ripe old age--but enjoy the benefits of youth? In The Longevity Paradox, Dr. Gundry outlines a nutrition and lifestyle plan to support gut health and live well for decades to come. A progressive take on the new science of aging, The Longevity Paradox offers an action plan to prevent and reverse disease as well as simple hacks to help anyone look and feel younger and more vital.

Lots of techie info, references to studies that substantiate his stands. Great details on the science of how our digestive system works, is fed, lives and dies. Not that hard to read, or wade through, as the case may be. He has taken adamant opposition of some complete categories of foods, like legumes, that does fly in the face of some of the diets where people historically live long healthy lives, and we didn’t necessarily see enough data to support that. He does present a good success record of treatment, so if you are okay with giving up some classes of foods and go on a pretty stringent (and pretty tasty) diet, check this out.

Well written and useful but i wouldn't do everything he says like fasting etc. but did like the food choices he put forward.

This book very much follows the themes of Gundry’s 2017 book The Plant Paradox. He continues to discuss foods to eat and foods to avoid (lectins). Gundry now talks in much more detail about the critical importance of maintaining a healthy microbiome. The best parts for me was the importance of stem cells for longevity. As a senior I consider this book as a must read.
