"A seemingly perfect marriage is threatened by the deadly secrets husband and wife keep from each other. Susannah, a young widow and single mother, has remarried well: to Max, a charismatic artist and popular speaker whose career took her and her fifteen-year-old son out of New York City to a quiet Vermont university town. Strong-willed and attractive, Susannah expects that her life is perfectly in place again. Then one quiet morning she finds a note on her door: I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Max dismisses the note as a prank. But days after a neighborhood couple comes to dinner, the husband mysteriously dies in a tragic accident while on a run with Max. Soon thereafter, a second note appears on their door: DID YOU GET AWAY WITH IT? Both Susannah and Max are keeping secrets from the world and from each other -- secrets that could destroy their family and everything they have built."--

I was unsure about continuing as it seemed a bit difficult to be sympathetic.
It was not bad but for some reason the ending left me not being sure how I felt about it.
Was hard to believe the detective's advice.

Stars: ⭐⭐⭐

Thriller with an overall menacing feel to it...

Susannah has it all...she is happily married, she is raising a healthy if somewhat withdrawn teenager, and she lives in a beautiful new home in Vermont. So when she finds a note taped to her front door saying I KNOW WHO YOU ARE, it seems her perfect world is about to come crashing down. It appears her successful husband Max has been keeping secrets from her...but what are they? And just how bad can things possibly get?

The more we find out about the past lives of Max and Susannah, the more precarious their current life appears to be. Will Susannah’s anxiety finally get the best of her? What will happen to their family, to their life together? Will they get through this drama together?

Pros: Alternating chapters from Susannah and Max helped build the tension...

Cons: Unfortunately there is nothing too unique here, and there were a few weird things that happened that I didn’t quite understand...there were also details that I just found distracting (for example, the meals Susannah would cook)...maybe this one just wasn’t for me.

This is a really short book, and some parts were quite well done...overall though, I’m afraid the ending let the book down just a bit too much for me.
