Careful. This seems to be a small-run recorded DVD, as opposed to a mass produced pressed DVD, therefore it may not play on certain players. Error message will say something like, "Playback feature is not activated". If it's available on hoopla and I feel motivated enough, I'll check out through my library account.

Maybe more appropriately title Music of Friends...this documentary chronicles the lives of the musicians of the Silk Road Ensembles and their journey to meld music from along the silk road. Coming together again and again to share music and culture, over the course of 18 years they develop a deep camaraderie and connection through the music they perform around the globe. Virtuosic and improvisatory in all regards. Each is determined to use the power of music to transcend borders and political divides yet they acknowledge and understanding the immense challenge of bring people together where there is division and unrest.

Not everone’s cup of tea, but if you like Yo Yo Ma and/or the jamming of international masters of their instruments this film may reward you as it did me, occasionally bringing tears to my eyes.
