Arrested on accusations of witchcraft and treason, Chant finds himself trapped in a cold, filthy jail cell in a foreign land. A delightfully charming yet dark tale of the lengths a seemingly harmless old man will go to to save his skin. Most of the story takes place in various jail cells, yet still managed to keep me on the edge of my seat. The power of stories, loyalty, and the way we justify the thousand little cruelties that make up a society all play roles in this tale that definitely reflects on our current world. I'm very much looking forward to more books from this new young author - I hope she is as prolific as she is clever!

This book has the wrong title associated with it. It is called A Conspiracy of Truths, not Book of Chant.
