I await each new episode of the ongoing saga of Elvis Cole and Joe Pickett with eagerness, Robert Crais is the most and I have read all of the books and liked to loved them to varying degrees but yeah, the guy is a solid sender! "The Wanted" is another well worth the wait-er which I used up in a couple of days last weekend; now I have to wait for "next time", nuts!
The basic plot is ripped from yesterdays headlines and is inspired by the "Bling Ring", a group of youngsters that went around the better LA-area neighborhoods burglarizing the well off. This time they stole something they aught not have and are being tracked down by a pair of diligent and inventive psychos for hire.
There was one aspect which struck me as kind of a reach and this may be heading into "SPOILER ALERT" territory BUT: why would Tyson Conner with all of his mad computer skills-second only to "The Carl"-have wasted his time boosting and aged, ancient Papa Oscar Sierra dinosaur like a "Mac Power Book"? I don't even think the Smithsonian Institution wants one of those!
Thanks again, Mr. Crais and please, please write more soon!
