I had high hopes for this three-film series because of Guy Pearce and Marta Dusseldorp. If you are fans of these two actors, or the books, stick with it if there is nothing else to see. Otherwise, it's pretty mediocre. Story lines are contrived, pacing is slow, and even if it does have a few forced charming moments, all three films lack sharpness, and wit.
