I loved this book so much I made it a playlist. Gritty noir coming-of-age stories featuring Weird Girls are my jam.
The best measure of a novel is how well the story, characters, and writing suck the reader into what is going on. And, is it all believable? I enjoyed all that was written, and I enjoyed a lot of what was left out. And, the whole "bear" thing was amazing. Best novel I've read this year.
I liked it a lot right from the start. The writing style is different and I had to get used to it, but that did not take long. In the end I had troubles to put the book away because I wanted to know what's going to happen next.
I would highly recommend it for everyone who likes to read a thrilling story in a not too voluminous book.
When the Aryan steel puts out a hit on Nate, his woman, his girl; he has no choice but to fight back. Nate is a bad guy, but he's got to win to save his daughter, Polly. Polly makes this story worth reading. She's wise beyond her years and tough as nails. This adrenaline-filled thriller speeds along from the start. Harper writes with cinematic grace that is engrossing and taut.
A thrilling, action-driven story that kept me entertained right until the end but, I can't say that I liked the characters, so that kind-of blew it for me. I doubt I will remember this one a few months from now.
An intense, sharp, addictive thriller that grabs you and won't let go. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this book.
