Danny and Sandy have a great summer romance, but when they get back to their high school, the magic is not as strong. This show was a live one night musical production of the massively popular crossover musical Great Britainse. Featuring a young ensemble cast, they reintroduce and reimagine some of the show's most memorable moments, great music, and timeless love story to an entirely new generation.

While I applaud the performances which were top drawer, and I kept telling myself, remember, this was originally a musical play and then turned into a cult classic film, that this is what the play might have been like, so I enjoyed that aspect of it. What I didn't like was the PC aspect. My mother is Mexican and is light skinned, so she passed as white. Growing up in Kansas City, KS in the 1950's, she told me stories of discrimination against Mexicans and an example was the soda shop. She said that Mexicans and blacks weren't allowed to sit at the counters or tables like the white kids were allowed to do. She said they had to stand with their drinks or food in their hands. One day, she sat at the counter and when one of her friends called her, the guy behind the counter asked her if she was Mexican and told her to get off the chair and to go stand with the others. So, this is where the PC ruined it for me. Blacks or any other minority would not be allowed to sit at the counters like they were shown in this show. As ugly as it is, I would prefer not to have any revisionist views and 'this is the way it should be because I want it that way' attitudes. But that is just me and my humble opinion. And please don't accuse me of being a racist. As a half breed, that is the furthest thing on my mind. Just don't like wishful thinking and revisionist ideas that sugar coat the truth of the times. Other than that, I liked how it was live, I liked how different songs were put in instead or added to, but, it left me a little disappointed. I guess I expected so much more from all the hype that was going on for days before it came on. It was kind of nice to see really young people playing the roles of the main characters instead of older people as in the original movie. I just have to remember, this was the play, the musical, NOT the movie. I wouldn't tell anyone not to watch it. Everyone has their tastes. Some might like this better than the movie, just like some like the movie better than this production. It is sort of like comparing the two "Hairspray" movies. I thought the original was the best while the redo was awful, but that movie, was based on the musical made after the original movie.

This is just one of those things that just needed to be left alone and kept a classic.
