GREAT 1945 music bio of George Gershwin. Yes, several aspects (romances, etc.) have been fictionalized, but this is more a tribute film than a strict bio.
The film will build your (as it did mine) appreciation how Gershwin contributed to evolution of American music, integrating blues, etc. into classical styles.
It was fun to see beautiful actresses Joan Leslie and Alexis Smith as part of lucky George's romantic life - and also appearances by real life associates of Gershin Al Jolson, Oscar Levant and others, including new to me black (and beautiful) singer/pianist Hazel Scott when Gershwin goes to Paris.
And this film restoration version of the 1945 film is terrific!!!
