Charlotte Rampling and Gabriel Byrne are absolutely superb in this film. Their complex personalities made me forget that I was watching a movie and I somehow became wrapped up in the mystery. The scenes were executed with such strong and palpable emotions. The one downer is that the time line of the film is a bit disorienting, but it is still typically beautiful for a film noir.

Strange movie........who was killed by whom? The synopsis of the movie was misleading. It did not live up to how it was described, was very disjointed and hard to follow.

I didn't understand who was murdered/killed by whomever.
Was the child accidentally killed and who murdered the man? Acting was good but I was confused.

The statements of acclaim on the DVD cover did not live up to the actual film. There was something missing in the flow of the story.

Frustrating, sad, predictable yet hauntingly beautiful modern film noir. It reminded me very much of the Keanu Reeves movie 'Exposed' only classier and executed better.
