Noirish, erotic, chaotic and intense, " Bad Timing " grows in complexity and emotional power as it progresses, with a wonderful soundtrack and some exceptional cinematography.

Lots of sex and cigarette-smoking

The only that is not quite right is, as he always is not quite right, is Art Garfunkle. I recommend this film in spite of that.

"Bad Timing" is nothing short of brilliant. This overlooked masterpiece from director Nicolas Roeg ("The Man Who Fell to Earth," "Don't Look Now") is a fascinating study of control and megalomania.

Interesting that both Nicolas Roeg and Martin Scorsese premiered films in 1980 dealing with the destructive nature of sexual obsession. BAD TIMING earned an 'X' rating in the U.S., most likely for the scene at the end of the movie where Art Garfunkel mounts a comatose Theresa Russell. BAD TIMING works for me because it captures the fin de siècle, not of the 19th century, but the end of the 1970s. Time had run out on the counterculture. Great soundtrack, sparingly featuring Tom Waits' SMALL CHANGE, Keith Jarrett's KOLN CONCERT and The Who's "Who Are You."

First movie I ever saw that reminded me of poetry. Everyone is wonderful in this movie, including and especially Art Garfunkel and Theresa Russell. And of course there's Harvey Keitel as well.

This intriguing and disturbing film by Nicolas Roeg has long been unavailable due to music rights- now it isn't. I feel like this is the sort of film that is better appreciated on a second viewing, though due to it's harrowing subject matter many might prefer not to do so. Theresa Russell is outstanding.
