In a seedy hotel near Ground Zero, a woman lies face down in a pool of acid, features melted off her face, teeth missing, fingerprints gone. The room has been sprayed down with DNA-eradicating antiseptic spray. Pilgrim, the code name for a legendary, world-class secret agent, quickly realizes that all of the murderer's techniques were pulled directly from his own book; a cult classic of forensic science written under a pen name.

A decent read but a little on the long side. Could definitely benefit from some major editing as there are storylines unnecessary to the plot woven in which do not add much substance and a few eye-roll moments that don't need to be there. But overall the plot is interesting and fast-paced and offers a glimpse into the mindset of those that want to hurt Americans and what the government does to protect us. It barely made my recommended list.

The reader is very good. Story line quite convoluted & long, like a huge pot of soup with everything but the frig thrown in. I certainly learned some things about drugs.
