It's 1939 and Europe teeters on the brink of war. Ten strangers are invited to Indian Island, an isolated rock near the Devon coast in southern England. Cut off from the mainland, with their generous hosts Mr and Mrs U.N. Owen mysteriously absent, they are each accused of a terrible crime. As each member of the party starts to die one by one, the survivors realize that one of them is a killer and start to turn on each other.

Originally broadcast as a BBC television mini-series in 2015 based on the 1939 novel by Agatha Christie, this 177-minute mystery delves into an unbelievable serial killing, in which all ten are killed in turn on an isolated island.
The film appears like a really, really excellent mystery and the performances of the major actors seem almost perfect until the apparently last death.
Then the story suddenly turns out totally silly and ridiculous.
I don't utterly understand how come the original novel became such a million seller.

When I was a teen, I read Agatha Christie's complete oeuvre, so this 3-episode show was right in my wheelhouse. It's a dark, brooding adaptation of the novel, in a gorgeous if gloomy setting. Top-notch actors, including Miranda Richardson and Charles Dance pull you in to the perplexing and creepy plot. If you are a mystery buff, you'll enjoy this!

This movie from Agatha Christie makes us activate our brain to think who is the real murderer in this isolate Island . Full of mysteries, hidden secrets and game of the mind. Very thrilling story great to watch until the end to see who really did it and confirm if i was right or wrong to discover the truth.

This is great! I am watching it now. The scenes are developed, and the acting is incredible. It moves along and is a joy to watch. Well worth it. In an Age when scenes are way too short to keep up with our diminshing attention span it is nice to see characters interacting. Fun to see Aiden Turner play something completely different.

If you are not an Agatha Christy fan don't rent this dvd. I had the best nap while this movie was playing. Long. Drawn out. Boring. Uninteresting.

Good acting and scenery with a little underlying proper English menace ~ 420

Beautifully filmed, great actors, a bit gory. Remake and rename of Ten Little Indians.

This is one of the best mystery stories ever written. It has been filmed many times, but unfortunately none is satisfactory and worthy of the exceptional story. Considering the cast, I thought this may be it. However the screen play, by somebody named Sara Phelps (who goes on to do even more damage to The Witness for the Prosecution next), leaves a lot to be desired. If only they had stuck to the story as it was written!
So far the 1945 Rene Clair version, while not great, is the best we have.

A bit long and slow but otherwise rich and faithful to Christie's book (all but one or two filmed versions are based on the stage play version which has a different ending).

Tons of memorable lines, e.g.:

Whereabouts in the country?
-The Devon coast. Soldier Island.
I always think it's rather a weakness to be so affected by something in one's circumstances. Rather indulgent. Almost vain. We must be strong, Mrs. Rogers, especially in these times. We must be valiant...
and virtuous. We must be Englishwomen.
Although, you shouldn't call it a poem, Miss Claythorne. It's doggerel. Poetry should be uplifting.
She might look like the undead, but she can definitely cook.
Convention, Miss Claythorne, is what keeps us together in the face of impending chaos.
But why teach in a third-rate establishment producing third-rate girls? Barely worth your time and
effort, I would have thought.
I've had more than my fair share of lazy and vindictive staff.

Ten little Indian boys went out to dine;
One choked his little self and then there were nine.
Nine little Indian boys sat up very late;
One overslept himself and then there were eight.
Eight little Indian boys travelling in Devon;
One said he'd stay there and then there were seven.
Seven little Indian boys chopping up sticks;
One chopped himself in halves and then there were six.
Six little Indian boys playing with a hive;
A bumblebee stung one and then there were five.
Five little Indian boys going in for law;
One got in Chancery and then there were four.
Four little Indian boys going out to sea;
A red herring swallowed one and then there were three.
Three little Indian boys walking in the Zoo;
A big bear hugged one and then there were two.
Two little Indian boys sitting in the sun;
One got frizzled up and then there was one.
One little Indian boy left all alone;
He went and hanged himself and then there were none.
