This book is a complete delight. Vibrant characters and a beautiful southern setting are host to a whirlwind mystery about an old house, the Civil War, and family secrets. The book combines a great story about kids on their summer vacation with some interesting historical tidbits, also touching on some racial issues in an age-appropriate way. A must for fans of Sheila Turnage and her Mo and Dale Mysteries.
