A young woman gets murdered in a multi-cultural neighborhood in Paris. The crime seems to have an anti-Semitic or anti-Muslim connections, except that the young woman was a former Jehovah's Witness. As the detectives investigate with the help of Ahmed Taroundat, a recluse and neighbor of the murder victim, intricate connections in the neighborhood and reaching as far as Brooklyn emerge.
