True stories are often the best stories told. I found myself laughing a lot with the blunt honest of the main characters. And though most of the scenes in the movie was taken at some type of old vehicle, the story never seemed stagnant and flat. The actors performed very well.

What a delightful movie. Dame Smith is a wonderful actress and plays this character so fully that I can actually imagine what the real woman she portrayed was like.

This is a good film and not a waste of time as so many films now a days are. Maggie Smith is very good but good writing, directing and pacing make it good.

I really enjoyed this movie. I know quite a few homeless people and this lady reminded me of a few of them. Living in a van is pretty common among the homeless. Having someone allow you into their driveway is not.
I like having her story unfold through the film.

Good movie, all in all. Sad and funny and showing the struggle that comes with be polite and English and just a bit timid. Watched this movie based on a preview so I believe I knew what I was getting into so my expectations were in the right place.

Odd little film about a fag playwrite and his pet bag lady. He is schizophrenic and she is just a pathetic victim of the Catholic Church--a story which has many parallel chapters.

I liked this DVD. It has some funny moments. It has a sad ending as expected dealing with an aging elderly senior citizen. The script is strong. It is well acted. It is good for all ages. The story is slow moving. The main character has some non-violent psychology issues for which she avoids therapy for. You may relate to the experience of the actors. I like Maggie Smith as an actress.

Love Maggie Smith in this movie. Its a movie that has a lot of British humor and I feel some American audiences find it hard to relate to. I chuckled through the entire movie. There's some sad part but a nice balance movie. I think the old lady's past was kind of a mystery. This movie wants to a lot: a funny movie, sad, mystery.

Maggie Smith excellent in this role. Sad true-life story, but shows one man's compassion for a less fortunate human being. A few gross scenes, but depicts reality of homelessness.

Rated 4/10. Good acting by Maggie Smith, but the movie is a fail. Far too much time was spent on her character's later eccentric life, living in the van. It would have been a more interesting story if her life had been told in a more chronological order. You only get to see glimpses of the earlier years.

The way the movie started was confusing. It only became clearer towards the end of the show as to its importance.

This could have been so much better with an improved script.
