EGGS is a quirky and moving audiobook about two very complicated, damaged children. David has recently lost his mother to a freak accident, his salesman father is constantly on the road, and he is letting his anger out on his grandmother. Primrose lives with her unstable, childlike, fortuneteller mother, and the only evidence of the father she never knew is a framed picture. Despite their age difference (David is 9, Primrose is 13), they forge a tight yet tumultuous friendship, eventually helping each other deal with what is missing in their lives.

This was cute. The storyline was, eh, okay, I guess. Nothing of all that incredible, but the way Jerry Spinelli wrote it was very appealing. (:A fun, light read.

Normally I love Jerry Spinelli books, but this one was a disaster! I think part of the problem was the people reading the book because they made the two main characters sound very whiny and impossible to deal with, all the way to the end. However, even by the end of the novel, I had not seen character development at all and I found myself wishing it was over far before it was. I'd stick with Mad Max or Crash any day.
