"The Owl Service" was totally gripping. Throughout the book there was a constant sense of foreboding.
The story centres on the finding of a set of dinner plates with a slightly odd design. From the moment the plates are found a sense of something not right settles over the three main characters. They are teenagers and the relationship they have to each other slowly unfolds as the tension between them ratchets up.
I've had The Owl Service on my to-read-next shelve since I was a kid. I wished I had read it earlier but I'm still glad I read it now.
