* This is the seventh book in the Griffin and Sabine series. I'm happy that with this book Bantock went back to focusing on the original characters, Griffin and Sabine. The book explains what happened to G. & S. in the twenty-odd year gap between books 3 and 4.

* As with the previous installments in this epistolary series, this book has interesting mail art. It gives me ideas for new things to try in my own mail art.

* My favorite part was when Griffin wrote a poem for Sabine, comparing her to a dragonfly, and included the poem in one of his letters to her.

* The two characters do a lot of traveling in this book, and it's fun to read the descriptions of the various places that each one visits. It's also fun to see postage stamps from many different countries. As always, Bantock deals in dichotomy and duality, and this time he explores the emotions that surround two aspects of travel--the leaving behind and the moving forward.

Lots of correspondence, not as many of his spectacular collages as I would have liked

Nick Bantock doesn't disappoint. I loved this book and couldn't put it down! The letters, the creativity, the art all add up to a wonderful experience! Even though Nick Bantock says this is the conclusion of his series, I hope the story will continue.... Linda Johnson

A disappointment, not in that the story ends, but that the quality of art, imagination and writing (voices) appears to have stalled. Really enjoyed the first 4 (still have the first editions on my bookshelf, handled with care), 5 & 6 were a little less enthralling thus I did not save in personal library. Pharos Gate I will not purchase.
