A 2018-2019 Missouri Truman Readers Award preliminary nominee (grades 6-8).

Simon Thorn is just your average New York City school kid until one day his family is besieged by birds and rodents. His mother is abducted and he get separated from his uncle trying to escape. Simon discovers that in his family they can shapeshift into animals, and so begins Simon's adventure.

This wasn't bad. It has a similar feel to Rick Riordan's series and Spirit Animals. Fantasy/adventure.

Is a great read for those who liked Percy Jackson! Lots of different twists that keep your mind going through the entire story. Can't wait for book 2!
