"Miss Petitfour enjoys having adventures that are "just the right size - fitting into a single, magical day." She is an expert at baking and eating fancy iced cakes, and her favorite mode of travel is "par avion." On windy days, she takes her sixteen cats out for an airing: Minky, Misty, Taffy, Purrsia, Pirate, Mustard, Moutarde, Hemdela, Earring, Grigorovitch, Clasby, Captain Captain, Captain Catkin, Captain Clothespin, Your Shyness and Sizzles. With the aid of her favorite tea party tablecloth as a makeshift balloon, Miss Petitfour and her charges fly over her village, having many little adventures along the way. Join Miss Petitfour and her equally eccentric felines on five magical outings -- a search for marmalade, to a spring jumble sale, on a quest for "birthday cheddar," the retrieval of a lost rare stamp and as they compete in the village's annual Festooning Festival."--Provided by publisher.

I loved this charming book. It is a slim, easy to read collection of short stories about Miss Petitfour and her 16 cats. They enjoy many small yet whimsical adventures. Miss Petitfour's fanciful adventures have a tall-tale level of absurdity, but they are delightful. The colourful illustrations are enchanting and sweet. The author clearly is having great fun with language throughout the book. Altogether, the book is completely adorable. Anyone who loves cats, books, pastries, tea parties and adventure will love this book.

A funny, whimsical tale of Miss Petitfour & her many cats. It is full of wordplay and charm, and includes all of my favourite things -- tea, cats, stamps, cakes, comforts, books, and wonderful illustrations of the many beautiful dresses of Miss Petitfour :)

Beautifully written by Toronto's poet laureate no less, and exquisitely illustrated. For cat lovers of all ages.

Possibly the tweest book ever created.

Miss Petitfour and her sixteen (!) charming feline companions embark a number of whimsical adventures reminiscent of Mary Poppins.

As charming and light as a French pastry.

What an incredibly charming collection of stories! Each tale deals with the every day adventures of Miss Petitfour and her sixteen cats. Lessons about imagination and dealing with the directions that life takes us provide a warm feeling that even in the midst of unexpected circumstances, there is much to enjoy in this world.
