The New Horizons spacecraft traveled for 9 years across 3 billion miles to take the very first detailed images of the dwarf planet Pluto.
We're finnaly able to get a close look at this strange, icy world.
It made dramatic new discoveries, not just about Pluto, but about the vast realm of icy bodies lurking beyond Neptune, relics of the earliest days of the solar system's formation.
It is an amazing, fascinating and informative documentary.
A look at the New Horizons program to study Pluto and the Kuiper Belt, this documentary examines the history and challenges of the program, as well as perceptions about the planet itself. All in all, quite insightful; the only issue I would have is that so much data about Pluto is still being sent back and analyzed- it might well have been a better idea to hold off a couple of years for more visuals and information.
