But sheer statistics are not the measure of his true accomplishment, nor do they speak to his own extraordinary learning journey. As an OSU alumni and big Buckeye football fan, I had to read this book. I was curious how Meyer motivated the teams he's coached as he is one of the most successful coaches in the college game. He lists strategies and motivations for success in a simple way and shows how to get the players to feel an integral part of the team and how they can always strive to be "the best that they can be". He says this strategy will work in any organization. Throughout the book he reviews that 2014 championship season and its successes and failures. I would have liked a bit more personal information, but did enjoy his stories and anecdotes. Probably a 3 1/2 star book for me, raised to 4 because I liked reading about the team and coaches.
