The sad thing about this book is the human core of the story - a boy trying to reconnect with his estranged father and discover a long-buried family secret - is quite interesting and compelling. Unfortunately, it's buried in an avalanche of shallow introspection and pop-culture platitudes.

I enjoyed this book about Carson and his friendship Aisha who go on a journey and both find what they are looking for. Great book about friendship and coming to terms with your family.
