Disappointing. Have liked other AP books very much but this one just seemed flat. The characters weren't interesting and they just drifted through the story.

How does Ann Patchett do it? She creates characters that you keep thinking about after you close the book wondering about the unspoken dynamics that tied their lives together before they even met.

This novel makes compulsve reading - very suspenseful. Quite an "easy read" for a Patchett novel
