"The harrowing, true account from the brave men on the ground who fought back during the Battle of Benghazi. 13 HOURS presents, for the first time ever, the true account of the events of September 11, 2012, when terrorists attacked the US State Department Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA station called the Annex in Benghazi, Libya. A team of six American security operators fought to repel the attackers and protect the Americans stationed there. Those men went beyond the call of duty, performing extraordinary acts of courage and heroism, to avert tragedy on a much larger scale. This is their personal account, never before told, of what happened during the thirteen hours of that now-infamous attack. 13 HOURS sets the record straight on what happened during a night that has been shrouded in mystery and controversy. Written by New York Times bestselling author Mitchell Zuckoff, this riveting book takes readers into the action-packed story of heroes who laid their lives on the line for one another, for their countrymen, and for their country. 13 HOURS is a stunning, eye-opening, and intense book--but most importantly, it is the truth. The story of what happened to these men--and what they accomplished--is unforgettable"--

Left me with deep respect and appreciation for the valor, courage, discipline and resilience of our defenders. We have heroes among us.

Very well written book! Tells the story of the six Operators that stood off the attacks in Benghazi in 2012. A true page turner. The author teamed with the former Operators to keep it true to form and kept us the reader emeshed with the frustrations, disapointments they encountered over the 13 hours of chaos they and others endured. Excellent read.

An amazing account of what occurred during that fateful event at Benghazi as told by the operators who were there. After reading the book, it leaves your head shaking and feeling of disgust as to why our government allowed the ambassador and its staffs were left vulnerable in an unstable country. I recommend reading the hardcover instead of the softcover. The schematic drawings inside the softcover is harder to see than in the hardcover.

Pretty good book, but doesn't cover the back story, and without that, nothing particularly makes any sense!
The operation involved a gun buyback from those al Qaeda affiliated rebels armed by the CIA [American gov't] - - 'cept that al Qaeda faction decided they wanted the money and keep their weapons. But why would the US gov't support any faction of al Qaeda? Because Gaddafi, who was aided during the Clinton administration - - pro-democracy activists who had fled the country were extreme renditioned back to Libya by the Clinton administration-era CIA, to be tortured and worse by Gaddafi's government - - was pushing for the adoption of Afro-centric currency to supplant the US Dollar for oil trading, et cetera! [Follow the money . . . always, follow the money!]

A page turner. True account of what actually happened in Benghazi told by military contractors that fought the battle. This book is not political. Reader can come to their own conclusions. The attack was not provoked by a video. The government knew this at the time. A non-armed drone was sent to monitor the fighting. Since when do protesters bring RPGs and mortars to a protest.

If they don't pose a threat, we won't shoot them.

What's the difference between how Libyans look when they're coming to help you versus when they're coming to kill you? Not much.
